On-Premise, Private Cloud-Based Application Platform

The nature of every enterprise is a wide ranging set of disciplines and backend processes. For large organizations where data is sensitive but consolidated views are needed, a centralized platform that enables the front-line information workers to access and analyze data and streamline processes is the key to success. Such a platform also needs to take advantage of existing service-oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives that are in play around IT.

The Application Platform at Your Service

LongJump makes its robust application platform for creating composite, information management applications available behind the firewall. Businesses can use the platform to create a variety of web-based situational and composite applications with reusable data objects. Each application has a complete user interface and provides connectivity to industry standard methods for information exchange.

Not only will LongJump reduce your development cycle from months to weeks, it will accelerate your time to value, control the costs and deployment of delivering solutions, and provide a mature, flexible platform for meeting ongoing application requests.

Not All Industries are Created Equal

LongJump BAP for Enterprises addresses a major gap in next generation application platforms designed solely for the public web. Information that is sensitive or subject to regulatory issues is relegated to sitting on a custom application built internally, adding to a level of complexity and management that neither scales nor adapts well with changing requirements. Because LongJump BAP for Enterprises sits inside your own datacenter, its applications and platform are ideal for organizations tasked with managing information for:

  • Financial and securities related industries

  • Medical and patient-related records

  • Government, civil and military institutions

  • Other data certification processes

Define the Data Model

Organizing information into structured data objects is the fundamental step in creating most applications on LongJump. Using LongJump, you can quickly design a data model on the web by using the browser interface to create objects, manipulate fields and relate information. One way to think about data modeling is that columns in your spreadsheet are field attributes, rows are records, and referenced data are other objects.

Automate Processes

Once the data model is created, LongJump enables you to add additional automated processing to information that executes when data is added, changed, or scheduled. This enables you to specify information that triggers other actions to take place such as validating information, executing a workflow, sending an email, changing data, or some custom Java process.

Create Reports

The built-in view and report designer provides a sophisticated, yet simple wizard for users to create and manage their own reports. LongJump also enables multiple data sets to be filtered across tables or joined to form additional reporting schema. Once reports are created, users can add them to their dashboards for easy visibility into operational status.

Extend Applications

When more complex or comprehensive customization is needed, LongJump provides a suite of developer tools to handle forms, manipulate data, run custom processes or actions, or even write native user interface elements. All tools are standard Java or Javascript syntax so there is no new language to learn.

Flexible Deployment

LongJump can be installed behind the corporate firewall, inside private data centers, or within a cloud computing or infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider (e.g. Amazon EC2, Rackspace Mosso, etc.). This offers organizations the adaptability to use virtualized resources as well as traditional servers to host the platform.

Movable Cloud Applications

In addition, applications can be packaged for migration from one LongJump deployed instance to another. For example, development can take place in a cloud deployment and be deployed in production in a corporation’s data center.

Industry Standard Stack

The LongJump platform is built using standard and open source web technologies and is written in Java and HTML. The backend database utilizes MySQL over a proprietary JDBC application and service layer. All requests and responses to the system utilize HTTPS, REST, or SOAP as transport. The policy, data, and session engines are all web-based.

Reliable, Proven Platform

With over 30-million user hours logged and over 400 companies large and small relying on this platform for critical business functions, LongJump's application platform is one you can trust to have gone through usability and product vetting.

Optional Multitenancy

Most organizations can function adequately with a single-tenancy platform, but for very large organizations that need to impart segmentation across their teams and data, LongJump can offer a multitenant platform that is just as easy to manage and operate.
